Why is Using CNG a Better Idea? What are the Advantages?

CNG gas, also known as compressed natural gas, is a clear, odorless, non-corrosive gas that can be used as a cheaper, cleaner and more efficient alternative to the traditional fuels used in vehicles. The gas is compressed so sufficient fuel can be stored within the vehicle to extend the driving range.

CNG Pumps

Before going to the CNG pumps, know the benefits of using CNG for your vehicles, these include Commonly referred to as the green fuel because of its lead and sulphur free character, CNG reduces harmful emissions. Being non-corrosive, it enhances the longevity of spark plugs. Due to the absence of any lead or benzene content in CNG, the lead fouling of spark plugs, and lead or benzene pollution are eliminated.

CNG does not have sulphur, particulate matter, traces of heavy metals or toxic additives in it, which may contaminate your motor oil.

The properties of CNG make it a safe fuel. It is stored in high gauge seamless cylinders which are certified with a negligible chance of leakage. It is lighter than air, so in case of leak it just rises up and disperses into the atmosphere and mixes in the air easily and evenly.

The operational cost of vehicles running on CNG, as compared to those running on other fuels, is comparatively low.

Dedicated natural gas engines are superior in performance to gasoline engines because natural gas has an octane rating of approximately 130, whereas super and unleaded have octane levels of 95 and 97 respectively.

If citizens switch to CNG, the money spent by the Government can then be relocated to other sectors which may need funding. Foreign exchange can also be generated by selling the liquid fuels which aren’t being used.

Another practical advantage observed is the increased life of lubricating oils, as CNG does not contaminate and dilute the crankcase oil.

These are a few positive benefits of using CNG gas. This gas is pocket friendly and don’t affect your four wheelers well as the environment. Hope these points will give you a positive mindset whenever you enter CNG pumps.
